BIOGRAPHY
Angelo Ortiz started playing the piano at
the age of 6. Being a gifted child, he was able to play the
piano without formal training at an early age. He, then, took
his piano lessons at that age in Yamaha Music School, Greenhills
Music studio and at Pink Toes Music Studio before he entered the
University of the Philippines Music Conservatory taking up Piano
Major under Professor Nita Quinto.
Angelo is not the ordinary instrumental composer. His music is a
new and refreshing approach amidst a musical warfare dominated
by pop, R&B, rock and novelty. Having Yanni, Jim Chappell, Jim
Brickman and Maksim as strong influencers in creating his own
style, Angelo identified and classified his own music as
“classical pop” piano music. Being the only one in the country
playing and composing under this musical genre, Angelo, now at
25 years of age is considered as one of the Philippine’s pioneer
in classical pop recording.
He is tagged as the Wladziu Valentino Liberace of the new
generation because of his electrifying energy on the piano and
his tremendous piano skills that made him a respectable
international pianist. He won two World titles as the
Overall Instrumental World Champion for
Classical and Original Works at the
most prestigious competition of the performing arts in which
over 50,000 participants from 50 different countries attended,
World Championship of Performing Arts held in Hollywood
California, USA. He was the only pianist who passed all
elimination rounds and ended up at the final round defeating all
pianists from around the world with an overwhelming standing
ovation from the audience. With that, he received offers from
the American Music Industry and concert producers.

album. Slowly, he has garnered followers of New Age Classical
Pop. His CD sales topped some record bars for their hot list of
Recording Artists. He has performed around the Philippines,
including a number of performances in international embassies
and countries like the United States, capturing the hearts of
young and mature piano lovers. He has received grants from
embassies like the Instituto Cervantes as well. His piano
performances have made a trademark in the classical and
mainstream music as he is called the “well-dressed pianist who
plays fireworks on the piano” and has inspired the young
generation to be inclined to music. Also, with his reputation,
Angelo was nominated in the 19th Awit Awards under Best
Christmas category and was chosen to be one of the judges in th
20th Awit Awards. Since then, people started recognizing his
fame, he was featured in TV shows like Breakfast at Studio 23,
